Notice of Application for the State Wetland Licenses, Private Wetland Permits or Water Quality Certification and the Opportunity to Provide Written Comment or Request an Informational Hearing.

The Water and Science Administration is reviewing the following applications for State Wetland Licenses, Private Wetland Permits and/or Water Quality Certifications. The applications and related information are on file at the Administration. Arrangements may be made for inspection and copying of file materials. Interested parties may provide written comment on the application or request an informational hearing on any listed application. A request for a hearing must be in writing and provide the following information: 1) Name, Address and Telephone Number of the person making the request; 2) The identity of any other person(s) the requester is representing; and 3) The specific issues proposed to be considered at the hearing. Please refer to the case number (i.e., 00-WL-000) which identifies each application. 201861083/18-WL-0652: BALTIMORE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION & SUSTAINABILITY, 111 West Chesapeake Avenue, Room 319, Towson, Maryland 21204, has applied to mechanically dredge Bird River and provide 49 spur channels to properties on the following streets: North River Drive, Community Road, South River Drive, Mallard Drive, Blackhead Road, Stumpfs Road, Bowerman Road, Loreley Beach Road, Beach Road, Stevens Road, and Bird River Grove Road in Baltimore County. The applicant has applied to mechanically and hydraulically maintenance dredge an approximately 25,388 linear foot main channel with the following segments: A) 10,435-foot long by a maximum of 59-foot wide channel to a depth of -5 feet at mean low water, B) 4,891-foot long by a maximum of 58-foot wide channel to a depth of -5 feet at mean low water, C) 2,349-foot long by a maximum of 52-foot wide channel to a depth of -4 feet at mean low water, D) 3,761-foot long by a maximum of 46-foot wide channel to a depth of -4 feet at mean low water, and E) 4,057-foot long by a maximum of 45-foot wide channel to a depth of -4 feet at mean low water. The applicant has applied to mechanically and hydraulically dredged the following new sections: F) 1,213-foot long by a maximum of 38-foot wide channel to a depth of -4 feet at mean low water, and a 105-foot by 90-foot area withing segment B. The project also includes dredging 49 spur channels that include approximately 1.6 acres of mechanically or hydraulically maintenance dredging and approximately 3.4 acres of mechanically or hydraulically dredging new spur channels. Approximately 106,164 cubic yards will be dredged and transported to the Bird River Creek DMP site. The purpose of this project is to improve navigable access.
