Notice of Application for State Wetland Licenses, Private Wetland Permits, Nontidal Wetlands and Waterways Permits and/or Water Quality Certification and the Opportunity to Provide Written Comment or Request an Informational Hearing

The Water and Science Administration is reviewing the following applications for State Wetland Licenses, Private Wetland Permits, Nontidal Wetlands and Waterways Permits and/or Water Quality Certifications. The applications and related information are on file at the Administration. Arrangements may be made for inspection and copying of file materials. Interested parties may provide written comments on the application or request an informational hearing on any listed application. A request for a hearing must be in writing and provide the following information: 1) Name, Address, and Telephone Number of the person making the request; 2) The identity of any other person(s) the requestor is representing; and 3) the specific issues proposed to be considered at the hearing. Please refer to the case number (i.e., 00-NT-0000, 00-WL-000, 00-WP-000, 00-WQC-0000) which identifies each application. 24-WL-0053/202460069/ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, at 2662 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 has applied to mechanically maintenance dredge a channel in Kitty and Duvall Creek and provide for 20 spurs off of Ervin Court, Sandpiper Lane, Beach Drive, Lee Circle, East Bay View Drive and Headwater Road; and to periodically maintenance dredge for 6 years. Specifically, the applicant proposes to maintenance dredge a main channel that includes fourteen segments totaling 5,345 feet in length with widths ranging from 20 feet to 60 feet to a depths ranging from -2.5 feet to -8.5 feet at MLW. This project also includes both maintenance and new dredging of 20 spur channels (24-GL-1035, 24-GL-1036, 24-WL-1037, 24-GL-1038, 24-GL-1039, 24-GL-1040, 24, GL-1041, 24-GL-1042, 24-GL-1043, 24-GL-1044, 24-GL-1045, 24-GL-1046, 24-WL-1047, 24-GL-1048, 24-GL-1049, 24-GL-1050, 24-GL-1052, 24-WL-1053, 24-WL-1054 and 24-GL-1055) for a total of 317,931-square feet and of various lengths, widths, and depths to match the main channel segment to which they are attached; and authorization of two piers associated with 24-WL-0140 and 24-WL-0154. Approximately 6,428-cubic yards of dredged material will be transported to one of the three following upland disposal sites: Rock Creek Dredge Material Placement (DMP) Site at Water Oak Point Road, Pasadena, MD 21122, Idlewilde DMP Site at Idlewilde Road, Shady Side, MD 20764 or South County Creek DMP at Sudley Road, West River, MD 20778. The purpose of this project is to improve navigable access. Mitigation as payment into the Tidal Wetlands Compensation Fund may be required for new impacts to submerged aquatic vegetation. The proposed project is located within the tidal waters of Kitty & Duvall Creek, Annapolis MD 21403.
